Residents of Kansas are eligible for the same rate as Missouri residents.
Legal residents of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin may qualify for the Heartland Rate.

Many academic programs and the general education requirements within your academic program are assessed at the base rate.
Visiting students and students enrolled at UMKC as part of Cross Campus Enrollment, regardless of declared major or officially recorded academic program, are assessed the base rate.
Some academic programs have slightly higher rates to accommodate materials and other services used in these programs.
Students declaring more than one major or officially enrolled in more than one academic program, will be assessed the highest academic program rate.
Students enrolled in a Study Abroad program through UMKC will be charged the academic program rate for their degree program for any coursework that requires a tuition payment as a part of that program.
In the event of a discrepancy in any tuition rate cited, the rate approved by the UM Board of Curators applies.
